Supply Chain Apprentice

Job Introduction

The role aims to provide learning and development of core supply chain principles whilst gaining experience within a project infrastructure and an insight into HS2, the UK’s new high speed rail network.

This exciting role will provide you with full training and support to achieve all your objectives and build the skills needed to develop as a Supply Chain professional whilst gaining a Level 6 qualification from Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS). CIPS Level 6 can be roughly compared to a bachelor's degree or NVQ level 4.

Role Responsibility

Opportunities for your development

  • Develop and manage a supply chain communication plan for internal and external stakeholder thorough timely updates on website, intranet, and production of quarterly newsletter etc.
  • Map and track supply chain compliance performance on external portal such as Constructionline, CHAS or Achilles to ensure that the pre-qualification is still valid and associated risks flagged to Procurement Leads.
  • Build and manage successful relationships with our existing and future supply chain
  • Become confident in providing prompt supply chain advice to buyers, across the business, to enable compliance and best practice
  • To promote the implementation of business improvement processes as captured by Engage Platform by assisting in the development and dissemination of standard supply chain processes.
  • Ensuring supply chain systems such as Sourcedogg, CompeteFor and related databases are managed, maintained and information cleansed for accurate reporting.
  • Support the information gathering process to inform the Supply Chain team of the state of Supplier Relationship Management
  • In addition to the tasks described above, the job holder may be required to carry out other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.

 Essential requirements

  • For us to enroll you on a level 4 qualification programme, you will be studying towards or having achieved Level 3 qualification such as A levels or BTEC extended diploma worth 64 UCAS points or equivalent. You will also need to have achieved 5 GSCEs including Maths and English at grades 4 or above.
  • Passionate about working in the construction and the building services industry
  • Have attention to detail and comfortable working with numbers
  • Comfortable with talking to people at various levels
  • You will be encouraged to progress on to CIPS Level 6 Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply to gain the full MCIPS professional licence
