Security & Business Continuity Manager

Job Introduction

We are seeking a curious, collaborative and dedicated security and business continuity manager, to focus on the protection of project critical assets and maintain Business Continuity (BC), Resilience and Incident Management (IM) strategies and plans. 

Reporting to the head of security, the security and business continuity manager will be responsible for implementing a security strategy for all line of route off-site assets, engaging with Transport for London, Network Rail and other stakeholders. Working to the principles of ISO22301, engage with the wider project team to carry out risk assessments, business impact analyses and documentation of business continuity plans. 

Assist in planning and conducting BC and joint exercises to test the adequacy of existing plans and updating procedures and plans regularly. Act as a coordinator for continuity efforts after a disruption incident. Develop a BC reporting process linking with the risk team to ensure BC risks are captured and reported on a regular basis as defined by the project. Act of single point of contact for the HS2 resilience reporting procedure attend monthly and quarterly meetings representing SCS.

Role Responsibility

  • Develop a security plan, operation requirements & security assurance regime to ensure effective protection of assets & personnel along the line of route.
  • Attend meetings, read literature, and participate in training or other educational offerings to keep abreast of new developments and technologies related to business continuity and incident management.
  • Create and oversee area contingency plans, development, and operation.
  • Create BC plans for core risks. (7 defined risks)
  • Create and administer training and awareness presentations or materials.
  • Create and maintain continuity communications plans used during incidents.
  • Prepare reports summarizing continuity outputs and accomplishments of specified objectives, goals, or plans.
  • Recommend or implement methods to monitor, evaluate, or enable resolution of continuity, operations, or compliance issues.
  • Review existing continuity plans and ensure they are updated in line with the Business Continuity strategy.
  • Write reports to summarise testing activities, including descriptions of goals, planning, scheduling, execution, results, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Help create scenarios to re-establish operations from various types of business disruptions.
  • Participates in project-wise training and communications.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly slides for resilience forums 
  • Submit monthly exercise / testing data to HS2
  • Compile and submit quarterly return for HS2 on SCS resilience capability

The Ideal Candidate

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in Security Management, Business Continuity, Risk Management, or other resilience disciplines
  • Prior experience in Business Continuity / HILP (High Impact, Low Probability) risk management functions in large infrastructure/equivalent projects desired.
  • Current subject matter expertise of Business Continuity processes and best practice
  • Understanding of Incident Management practices.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels, including executive.
  • Competent in delivering presentations and training.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to transfer and analyse business and technology requirements.

 

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience of obtaining and maintaining ISO 22301 accreditation
  • Diploma in Security Management (NVQ Level 5) or or higher

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
