MEP Testing & Commissioning Coordinator

We are currently recruiting for 2no. MEP Testing & Commissioning Coordinators to join the Completions & Transitions team here at SCS Railways.


About the role

The Testing & Commissioning Assurance Coordinator’s role is to prepare assurance certificates for the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health works of the supply chain, based upon the commissioning strategy and assurance work breakdown structure. IRF, IRN, PAC & AC.

The preparation of the certificates will involve reviewing the accuracy of the common data environment and carrying out actions to correct any inaccuracies.

The role will involve working in a specific area of the project, embedded within the asset delivery team, and liaising regularly with the quality and technical assurance counterparts.

Role Responsibility

  • Prepare the certificates for the MEP works based upon the commissioning strategy and assurance work breakdown structure, ensuring the quality of the deliverables.
  • Issue these prepared certificates to the supply chain, in order for the supply chain to complete these and issue back to SCS.
  • Liaise with on-site commissioning engineers to understand program and priorities to ensure certificate preparation is timely.
  • Establish document reviewers and manage ongoing reviews.
  • Liaise with reviewers to ensure reviews are completed in line with the contract.
  • Communicate to the Quality Managers and Quality Engineers any non-conformances.
  • Assist the Quality engineers in carrying out assurance surveillances.
  • In addition to the above discipline role, the Testing & Commissioning Coordinators must carry out their duties in accordance with the SCSJV Core Values. Understand the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes and statutory requirements as they affect the company's operations and ensure that the requirements, as applicable within their discipline, are implemented on the project.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience within quality or engineering related role on a major infrastructure project.
  • Experience of working on MEP engineering projects.
  • Computer competence (MS Word, Excel).
  • Relevant CSCS Card.
  • On-site training in Quality.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems is desired.

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
