MEP Delivery Manager
Job Introduction
As the Delivery Manager for MEP you will be the senior point of contract for the MEP supply chain on an asset. You will manage a team of MEP engineers and specialist suppliers, reporting to the Asset Lead and work closely with the Package Managers that manage the MEP supply chain across all assets.
You will manage the MEP asset works from design through construction and commissioning to handover. Working collaboratively with the supply chain partners you will ensure that the subcontract and technical requirements are met and that the MEP works are delivered within the asset.

Role Responsibility
Subcontract Supply Chain Management.
Managing the full lifecycle of the contract from design through construction and commissioning to handover on the asset. This shall include:-
- Subcontract and Change Management – Be fully conversant with subcontractor’s contract conditions, assist to develop job specific subcontract conditions and manage the subcontractors account with the support of the Commercial team.
- Cost Management – Being able to develop and manage budgets, proactively managing costs as the works progress within the asset.
- Programme Management – Able to develop own and review subcontract programmes. Able to integrate the subcontract programmes into the asset programme. Able to understand and clearly communicate progress and challenges/risks.
- Ensure that contemporaneous records are maintained on the asset. Checking the standards of records retained by the site engineers and supply chain on the asset.
- Risk Management – Able to develop risk register for asset, communicate and manage the risks proactively.
Ensure the Safety of Our Workforce and the Protection of the Environment
You will take a leading role in ensuring the safety of our delivery and minimising our environmental impact on the asset. This shall include:-
- Ensuring that the supply chain working on the asset are aware of and fulfilling all relevant SCS and statutory requirements
- Engaging with the site management team from SCS and the Supply chain on safety on site. Identifying improvements in ways of working and ensure that these are implemented.
- Undertaking constructability reviews for subcontract design ensuring that risks are eliminated prior to construction commencing and ensuring that the Design Risks are managed through design to construction
Deliver a Quality Product
You will ensure that a quality product is delivered to the end user. This shall include
- Ensuring that quality risks are identified and managed through the use of ITPs. Coordinate inspections with the Lead Designers representatives .
- Ensure that technical requirements for the works are met
- Lead on the development of technical solutions at an asset level, engaging with the engineering and technical specialist teams
Deliver on Time
- Understand that the asset programme is developed and fully integrated for the MEP works.
- Progress reporting on assets on a weekly basis.
- Review and approve subcontract progress reviews.
- Understand the SCS processes and timescales, ensuring that these are communicated to the supply chain.
Exceed the expectations of our Customer
- Develop trusting working relationships with our customers representatives.

The Ideal Candidate
- Experience in a similar level role, responsible for the delivery of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health systems including management, procurement, design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- A professional qualification or degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related subject
- Knowledge of construction techniques, sequencing, and best practice.
- Knowledge and understanding of working to and implementing NEC construction contracts.
- Capable of working independently and proactively to progress works but also skilled at working collaboratively with other integrated team members and external stakeholders for the overall benefit of the project.
- Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Document Control Systems, Auto CAD).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to adjust communication style to suite receiver.
- Relevant CSCS Card.

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
