CAD Manager

Job Introduction

As a CAD Manager you will be managing CAD data quality and data flow compliance from designers and supply chain/sub-contractors. Using ProjectWise, with ownership and responsibility of the CAD data set for model and drawing production with compliance to CAD QA checks and workflows.

 

We are looking for an excellent candidate who has extensive knowledge of Bentley ProjectWise, AECOsim and AutoCAD with an exceptional attention to detail and will be self-motivated and able to work proactively to maintain and improved quality.

Role Responsibility

 

  • Responsible for managing the SCS Key Subcontractors & Supply Chain drawing submission process, within the SCS ProjectWise Explorer, ensuring that quality assurance processes are implemented and compliance against the ProjectWise Explorer Environment is achieved
  • Responsible for ensuring that all shared and published CAD native drawings and renditions adhere and comply with the HS2 CAD standards and specifications
  • Responsible for maintaining and developing the Permanent and Temporary Works AECOsim Workspace managing, among others, the CAD Dataset
  • Responsible for managing the SCS Key Subcontractors & Supply Chain information delivery packages in terms of completeness against the Task Information Delivery Plan
  • Responsible for assuring that the information delivery packages satisfy the ProjectWise Explorer metadata requirements and are fit for the purpose of the submission in terms of Technical Lifecycle and Suitability
  • Responsible to ensure CAD data interoperability via data transformation between different file formats
  • Responsible for working closely with the Document Control Team to ensure that information delivery packages are effectively synced from ProjectWise Explorer to other SCS Common Data Environments
  • Working closely with the Temporary Works CAD Manager to ensure that all Temporary Works CAD deliverables comply with the SCS Temporary Works Procedure
  • Manage the CAD standards provided by 3rd parties and support the as-built team with the deliverables.
  • Working closely with the As Built Lead and Coordinator to ensure that all as built models and as built drawings deliverables comply with the SCS / HS2 Procedure   
  • Supporting the BIM Lead on setting the Subcontract Works Information CAD Requirements for the Supply Chain

The Ideal Candidate

 

  • HNC or equivalent in civil engineering or an appropriate professional qualification
  • Prior experience in a leading a CAD function in Civil Engineering / infrastructure
  • CAD experience 2D and 3D CAD production in Bentley AECOsim and ProjectWise
  • Thorough knowledge of the UK BIM Framework: BS1192 and ISO19650 standards
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • CSCS card is desirable

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 Main Civils Contracts which include both Lots S1 (Euston Tunnels & Approaches) and S2 (Northolt Tunnels). Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
