Tunnelling Data & Information Manager

Job Introduction

We are looking for a person to join the SCS Tunnelling team who can take responsibility for the data and information that is generated by the tunnelling operations and supporting activities. This asset facing role is an opportunity to shape the approach we use to share and visualise data generated, knowledge gained and lessons learnt.  This SCS asset wide role will be suitable for someone who can with build networks with good interpersonal skills.    This role is an excellent opportunity for someone to positively impact on the SCS tunnelling operations, whilst developing new skills in a dynamic ever developing role.  The successful person will need have a growth mindset, enjoy data management and be relentless in their pursuit of excellence. 

Role Responsibility

  • Oversee the data and information flow (manually generated and IT) across the tunnelling teams including collection, documentation and reporting
  • Develop a tunnelling data and information strategy
  • Develop systems that ensure data and information is collected consistently and accurately
  • Manage the use of the PiP (Power BI) dashboard and ensure that all assets are operating consistently and that tunnelling staff are trained and supported
  • Liaise with the necessary internal stakeholders and external  suppliers
  • Monitor and check the accuracy of the dataflow/ integration from TPC to PiP
  • Oversee the recording of information from daily production meetings and planning meetings
  • From the PiP and other sources produce reports, information and data, as required
  • Attend and monitor and the site collaboration meetings ensuring a standardised approach
  • Evolve the current lessons learnt capture opportunities and sharing platforms
  • Support and contribute to knowledge sharing sessions
  • Proactively coach and mentor as required

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in analysing and interpreting data
  • Understanding of the potential of Power BI dashboards and have IT fluency
  • Have the skill to connect with a range of stakeholders from Works Supervisors, SLT to the Supply Chain
  • A process focused mind with a proven ability to solve problems
  • A desire to learn and develop their own SCS trusted network
  • Understand the principles of continuous improvement
  • First class presentation skills both verbal and written
  • A positive attitude
  • Comfortable on-site (in Oranges) or in the Board Room!
  • As a minimum, a basic understanding of tunnelling both SCL and TBMs

Degree or equivalent in an STEM subject, commercial
