Traffic Management Supervisor

Job Introduction

We currently have a vacancy for a Traffic Management  Supervisor  to join the our Area Central Team .

You'll provide operational support and supervision of all traffic management. To provide sound knowledge to all SCS staff when required, you will be confident with auditing multiple traffic management sites daily, you will be integral in the successful delivery of our works management system, meeting service performance standards and qualities.

 

Responsible for:

 

  • Conducting daily site inspections across all live work sites.
  • Providing operational support to SCS teams when required.
  • Preparing and conducting start of shifts briefings daily.
  • Supervision of traffic management installations when required.
  • Monitoring and tracking compliance of traffic management framework contractors.
  • Management of subcontractor’s TM supervisors.
  • Ensure traffic management is not installed without the relevant consents being in place.
  • Inspect future proposed traffic management layouts to ensure all site risks have been accounted for e.g. bus stop suspensions, parking bay suspensions, pedestrian crossings etc.
  • Provide weekly reports updating the Area Traffic management Manager’s on the TM framework contractor’s progress and compliance.
  • Investigate and provide information for non-compliance, traffic management related but also an awareness of non-compliance or safety issues within all areas of HS2 works.
  • Attend site meetings, progress meetings and other meetings where required.
  • To carry out any other duties appropriate for a job of this nature.
  • Identify and report to the Area Traffic management Manager’s any ideas or systems which may benefit the traffic management division.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Understanding of the High Speed 2 London to West Midlands Act, and the Highways consenting regime.
  • Understanding of the New Roads and Street Works Act NRSWA.
  • Extensive knowledge of Traffic Signs Manual, Traffic Signs Regulation and General Directions (TSRGD).
  • Lantra 12D M1, M2, M5 and M6 – essential.
  • TSCO – desirable.
  • CSCS – essential.
  • Lantra 12D M3, M4 – desirable.
  • NRSWA supervisor – desirable.
  • SSSTS/SMSTS – essential.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and able to multi-task.
  • Able to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong presenting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain and build relationships.
  • Strong listening skills.
  • 2-3 years minimum traffic management experience
