TBM Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Introduction

Role and Reporting-:

 Reports directly to the TBM Plant Manager

 Working with the Mechanical Superintendent

Role Responsibility

  • Completion of routine maintenance tasks scheduled in the department´s activity plan.
  • Understanding of the TBM and plan activities and how they impact on plant performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Draw up appropriate maintenance schedule program accordingly to the supplier requirement with the Mechanical Superintendent.
  • Cooperate with the supplier to guarantee a good induction of all systems
  • Prepare all documentation and procedures for the start-up, assembly, and disassembly of and on the TBM and other.
  • Prepare and redact production and maintenance daily reports on programs and /or management systems.
  • Understand the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes, and statutory requirements as they affect the company's operations and ensure that the requirements, as applicable within their discipline, are implemented on the project.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Knowledge in tunnel plant and TBM works and activities
  • Degree or diploma qualification in Mechanical engineering or similar.
  • Extensive experience in similar activities in a similar role
  • Deep knowledge about operational systems and safety aspects on UK construction sites
  • High level English

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks, and the construction of site compounds.
