Systems & Reporting Analyst

Job Introduction

The System & Reporting Analyst will join the SCS Logistics team that manages construction logistics across the HS2 main works. They will be part of team which is responsible for developing and maintaining the SCS core logistics systems.

The role is aimed at professionals and other construction specialists who can demonstrate a track-record in data analytics and system implementations.

    • Logistics Operational Dashboards availability promoting the SCS Logistics vision
    • Promoting user interaction with logistics dashboards
    • Logistics System availability to meet operational requirements.
    • Managing the logistics operational SCS IT requirements

    Key Areas of Responsibility  

    • Own, develop and maintain the Logistics Operational Dashboards (Power BI)
    • Supporting the induction and access, rail and road team with system requirements
    • Support logistics system integration with other SCS systems
    • Support logistics system implementation
    • Data flow and process engineering (Design-Payment)
    • Managing the Logistics Visualisation Boards & Process
    • Effectively merge and consolidate data, potentially in different formats from different sources, to provide visually compliant reporting to agreed requirements.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English (essential)
  • Good organisation skills (essential)
  • Power BI experience (essential)
  • Logistic / DMS system experience (preferable)
  • Good IT skills eg Excel, Word (essential) - particularly in-depth knowledge of advanced Excel functions.

  • Demonstrable DAX queries and functions knowledge
  • Own the design and build of database schemas and associated data pipelines (extract, transform and load) routines / processes to facilitate the end-user data and reporting requirements using Power BI
  • Understanding business requirements in BI context and designing clear data models to transform the raw data into meaningful insights
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience of providing insight that drives evidence-based decision making.

About the Company

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
