Supply Chain Auditor
Job Introduction
To perform the duties of Lead Auditor on behalf of SCSJV (plan, organise, conduct and report audits) on the SCS supply chain, with particular emphasis on requirements relating to employment and how it might conflict with the client’s works information.
Act as the key functional manager to deliver the key trades audit schedule, through liaison with the Business Systems & Audit Team, the wider project team and suppliers to arrange suitable audit dates. Collaborate with the project team to establish supply chain assurance procedures, standards, systems and procedures. The role involves audits being conducted both on and off-site.
This is an outward facing role, the appointee must possess good organisational, commercial and situational awareness, combined with the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with external organisations and stakeholders.

Role Responsibility
- Understand the Client and SCSJV’s Policies, Processes, Works Information, statutory requirements and ensure that the set requirements are adopted and effectively implemented on the project.
- Ability to interpret elements of Working Rule Agreements, e.g. CIJC and JIB, applicable to construction trade workers.
- Support the Head of Business Systems & Audit in the development of the Audit Programme.
- Implementing the Audit Program applicable to the Supply Chain by coordinating and undertaking key trade supplier audits at their premises and remotely where necessary.
- Manage the daily activities of Supply chain assurance process; writing management and technical reports, audits report and records of non-conformance, analysing and distributing audit and statistical information.
- Supports activities related to continuous improvement, working with the Business Management Systems, Assurance and Supply Chain teams to identify supplier training and development needs. Acting as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance and quality.
- Management of the Supplier assurance data, collating data from other functions within the supply chain tool.
- Provide the Head of Business Systems & Audit with detailed weekly reports, relating to all planned and recently conducted Supply Chain audits, identifying key risks to Supply Chain Management, where required.
- Manage compliance with technical accreditations, for example, RISQS and Principal Contractor’s licenses.
- Ensuring the availability of adequate competent resources to carry out the review and approval of documentation in accordance with the works requirements.
- Support in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the project’s management systems, in particular the Quality Management System.
- Ensuring good relations and communications with all members of the team and responding politely and in a timely fashion to internal and external customers.
- Working with all members of staff to maintain and develop the positive progressive culture within the team.
The Ideal Candidate
- Trained and qualified as a Lead Auditor, with a minimum of 5 years practical experience in auditing, preferably in the conduct of second-party / supply chain audits.
- Basic working knowledge of UK and EU Employment, and H&S legislation.
- A questioning mindset, a willingness to challenge the supply chain companies to demonstrate compliance.
- GDPR/Data Protection legislation.
- Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM).
- NEC 3 Construction Contracts.
- Experience in auditing civil engineering/construction projects.
- Good knowledge and practical experience of developing, implementing, maintaining and improving Quality Management Systems to the standard BS EN ISO 9001: 2015. Knowledge of other Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015, ISO 27001:2013, OHSAS 18001:2007, ISO 44001:2017 etc.) is desired.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work proactively using own initiative.
- Good understanding of the construction market.
- Strong leadership/team management skills and experience.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately in a busy and demanding environment.

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
