Senior Quantity Surveyor (Change)

Job Introduction

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Optioneering, Mitigation & Change (OMC) team on our HS2 London Tunnels Contract.

The OMC team focus is on change pan-project which gives a unique high level perspective on a multi-billion pound project. You will be working for a Senior Commercial Manager and will be expected to work independently and as part of an integrated team. Your focus will be looking at aligning costs with value on the design contract.

Role Responsibility

  • Administering the sub-contract in relation to change – drafting EW’s, drafting EI’s, drafting GC’s, assessing Compensation Events and quotes.
  • Preparation of quotations for submission to HS2.
  • Attend risk reduction meetings.
  • Use excel to extract and present data to show progress
  • Lead and develop the efficient and effective management and issue of accurate, timely and contract compliant documentation.
  • Work closely with project management and engineering teams and liaise with Employers commercial team and client team.
  • Review and fully understand the cl.32 changes for compensation events
  • Progress continuous own professional development.
  • Competent in the application of IT skills to commercial management and the production of project documentation.
  • Demonstrate and maintain commercial and technical knowledge and work closely with technical staff to develop appropriate techniques and solutions for the project.
  • Effective and consistent implementation of the SCS Commercial Policy and procedures.
  • Identify and provide appropriate, timely information to support change control process.
  • Maintain registers of variations, delay, extension times and claims.
  • Understand the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes and statutory requirements as they affect the company's operations and ensure that the requirements, as applicable within their discipline, are implemented on the project.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • Relevant Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
  • Right to Work in the UK.

Desirable:

  • Strong contract experience.
  • Experience in rail or infrastructure projects.

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
