Security Investigation and Assurance Manager

Job Introduction

Are you naturally curious with an excellent attention to detail? We’re looking for an experienced investigator with a proven track record to manage investigation and assurance activities across all 22 SCS site locations. The investigation and assurance manager will define and implement physical security assurance measures and investigate theft related issues including breaches of site access and logistics process. Reporting to the Senior Security Manager, the Security Investigation and Assurance manager will be responsible for analysing site assurance data and investigation findings to identify risks relating to theft and loss, addressing gaps in process and implementing improvement projects to minimize impact and increase efficiency

Role Responsibility

  • Investigations: Protect SCS by undertaking thorough and effective investigations, preparing evidence and recommendations for internal action or criminal/civil proceedings as necessary.
  • Auditing and Compliance: Ensure adherence to site security plans, site access process and any relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee, manage asset-related risks, and ensure all processes meet the highest standards.
  • Leading the identification and management of asset loss across end-to-end operations, using data, insight, and cross-functional collaboration to identify root causes and deliver sustainable solutions.
  • Creating and embedding processes, policies, and supporting tools that promote a strong loss prevention culture across SCS Railways, ensuring they are clear, practical, and accessible for all teams.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize data-driven insights to identify ordering and stock discrepancy trends and implement preventative measures.
  • Briefing and guidance of the project team, subcontractors, suppliers and 3rd parties on the loss prevention strategy and procedures.
  • Driving innovation and the upskilling of the project team in all security matters and continuous improvement.
  • Supporting the wider security management team as required.

 

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience of conducting complex investigations.
  • Relevant security or risk-related education or experience - loss prevention, risk management, inventory management, investigations.
  • Skilled in evidence preparation for civil or criminal proceedings
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal at all levels.
  • Knowledge of GDPR standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • A solution-oriented mindset and the ability to manage change effectively.

 

Desirable Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma in Security Management (NVQ Level 5) or industry related equivalent qualification.
  • A recognized audit qualification.
  • Member of ‘The Security Institute’ or ASIS.
  • Relevant CSCS Card.
  • Driver’s license.

About the Company

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
