Recruitment Manager - FTC
Job Introduction
You will be responsible for delivering the Skanska resource plan for the HS2 project, through the utilisation of appropriate tools and strategies. A key focus of the role is on developing and implementing a resourcing strategy for the project. This includes ensuring a proactive, robust, resource planning process for the management of our internal talent, whilst sourcing, recruiting, hiring and pipelining external talent to meet the needs of our business.
We are looking for someone who has a strong background within recruitment and previous people management experience. You will be excellent at stakeholder management and engagement with the ability to build relationships across the business and operating unit that you will be supporting. You will also be involved in broader projects that will really help to shape and add value across the recruitment experience we offer the business as a whole.
Role Responsibility
- Work in conjunction with the S/HR BP to support the design and delivery of a sustainable talent acquisition strategy and hiring plan – ensuring delivery against T&C/people strategy under resourcing and skills for growth
- Perform analysis of hiring needs and provide an employee hiring forecast across the OU/EF
- Identify bottlenecks in the recruitment process and suggest strategies and process improvements in order to address these
- Ensure resourcing forecasts, workforce skills and gap analysis are accurate and communicated
- Ensuring accurate data availability such as dates/mobility allowances/costs
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in an in-house recruitment role, broad knowledge of recruitment and latest recruitment developments
- Previous exposure recruiting within a joint venture environment
- Experience of people management and the ability to both lead through others and work as part of a team
- Experience of working with reporting tools, with the ability to interpret data and present it
- Thorough and up to date knowledge of employment law, and experience of practical application of this in a complex business environment.
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Resilient - able to face challenges proactively and comfortable dealing with all levels within the organisation.

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high-speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable, and frequent high-speed services
The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 Main Civils Contracts which include both Lots S1 (Euston Tunnels & Approaches) and S2 (Northolt Tunnels). The combined value of the contracts is around £1.8billion with the works due for completion in 2025. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks, and the construction of site compounds.
