Project Knowledge Manager
Job Introduction
To drive a step-change in the understanding and prioritisation of behaviours, enabling knowledge share and management activities to improve team performance, productivity, quality of outputs and wellbeing of stakeholders engaged with the project (stakeholders include client, supply chain partners and employees, plus others).
Responsible for delivery of the SCS Knowledge Management strategy, including maintenance of the Knowledge Hub, facilitating a Knowledge Community and associated stakeholders aligned to the SCS Efficiency Challenge.

Role Responsibility
- Responsible for engaging senior leaders to sponsor knowledge management activities to enable team performance aligned to the SCS efficiency challenge.
- Drive strategy/key objectives/improvement targets whilst ensuring continued alignment to the wider SCS strategic goals.
- Work with senior leaders to implement a learning and sharing culture, embedding lessons learnt and best practice to drive better ways of working.
- Structure knowledge management activities in the short, medium, and long term, using proven project management principles and improvement techniques, leading others along the journey.
- Support senior leaders in applying knowledge (hub) data to make fact-based interventions and inform decision making.
- Engage, coach, and collaborate with, project teams at all levels based in multiple locations.
- Lead a project wide continuous improvement, innovation, knowledge transfer culture and environment.
- Develop digital solutions to improve knowledge management to drive industry standards as part of the HS2 Legacy.
- Enable and empower project teams to accept accountability and share knowledge.
- Understand the “voice of the customer” to align team performance across both operational and service delivery.
- Maintain close collaborative relationships with communications and project improvement to form the ‘corporate glue’ to maximise knowledge sharing across the project.
- Build relationships across parent companies (UK and globally) and other HS2 MWCC, as appropriate.
- Promote team and project success to enhance both SCS and HS2 reputation, leaving a legacy across parent companies, HS2 and wider industry.
- Be a collaborative role model, uphold the values and behaviours of SCS and HS2.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience of working with senior leaders creating a learning culture and sharing environment.
- Experience within the construction and infrastructure sector preferred.
- Experience of managing strategic business change in a senior capacity.
- Experience of enabling and directing a consistent approach to improvement activities across all disciplines of a large project.
- Experience of facilitating, developing, and coaching multi-disciplined teams, across multiple locations.
- Effective communicator and facilitator, ability to build strong networks and influence at a senior level.
- Comfortable taking on a “disrupter” role, challenging norms and driving change to benefit the project.
- Strong written and analytical skills to assess data, understand trends and facilitate activities based on relevant information.
- Able to work in an agile manner, fast paced and able to identify and resolve blockers efficiently and effectively.

About the Company
The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services
The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
