Project Information Management Lead
Job Introduction
We currently have a vacancy for a Project Information Management Lead, within our IT & Digital team, here at SCS Railways JV.
About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Information Processes and Systems the successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact between project teams and the information management team to coordinate, manage and facilitate the planning, compliance and delivery of project information, including and containing the suite of Information Deliverables throughout all phases of the Main Works Civils Contract (MWCC) for Lots S1 & S2 of the HS2 Project.
Flexible working: This role will be based in the project office for a minimum of 3 days per week.
Role Responsibility
- Act as the senior authority for information compliance, assurance, and best practice across the project. Maintain, and enforce project-wide information management standards, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Managing a team or Project Information Managers in ensuring all Project deliverables, configured information delivered for specific Project Purposes e.g. Stage Outputs, Employer and Project Team information exchanges, submissions for planning, procurement, construction are identified and delivered as well as being compliant to the project standards and industry best practises such as ISO 19650
- Manage and Co-ordinate the projects Information Delivery Packaging (IDP) from strategic to milestone to work package levels with the project information management team and supporting stakeholders – Assurance, planning and Handover.
- Liaise with Work Package Managers, Design Managers, Construction Managers, Delivery Team members and the Assurance team to ensure all information deliverables are identified and included in the Task Information Deliverables Plan (TIDP) and then monitored and supported through to delivery.
- Support the project and the project teams in the use of the Common Data Environment (CDE) and support in the management of that information, ensuring integrity of data is consistent and the benefits to the teams in the delivery of the project.
- Ensure all project information is accurately identified and correctly created ensuring all relevant meta data and supporting information relationships are in place for development of the Project Information Model.
- Lead engagement with BIM, digital engineering, IT, PMO, quality, assurance and commercial teams to ensure integrated information delivery.
- Defining and managing the reporting of deliverables and Key Performance Indicators on project information performance and ensure corrective actions are implemented and closed out ahead of handover milestones.
- Participate in and comply with project team management procedures and processes including: Performance management and measurement procedures. Change management procedures including adjustments and programme. Attendance at project and design team meetings as required
- Proven experience leading or supporting information delivery and handover to operations and asset management teams.
- Experience planning and managing staged and final handovers aligned to programme gateways.
- Ability to define information acceptance criteria and readiness metrics.
- Experience supporting internal and external audits, assurance reviews, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong risk awareness related to information quality, traceability, and operational readiness.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential:
- The successful candidate will have previous experience of managing project deliverables using document management systems and project plans and deliverables lists on infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of the UK BIM Framework: BS1192, PAS1192 and ISO 19650 suite of standards and Government Construction Strategies
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary/complex project environment;
- Data driven mindset
- Experienced in the use of spreadsheets/databases and information management systems to manage records and information;
- Good at problem solving & strong decision-making capabilities
- Management of the team and individual workloads
- Excellent organisational, administrative & planning skills
- Excellent communication with both internal & external project teams.
- Credible in building relationships with all levels of internal and external stakeholders;
- Demonstrable ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines;
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work flexibly.
Desirable:
- Experience of information management on Rail projects

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
