Project Controls Coordinator

Job Introduction

The Project Controls Coordinator will be responsible of the coordination of activities required for the ongoing operation, administration and business support of the S2 project performance control and reporting system based in the iTWO software, liaising with the vendors and Consultancies for adhoc support and the relevant SCS Railways teams.

Role Responsibility

  • Maintaining the performance and structure of all working data tables and processes required to ensure iTWO and the ETL is correct to avoid data corruption
  • Management and issue resolution within iTWO cost controlling system with the areas across SCS Railways
  • Implementation of various system integrations (not limited to P6, E1, Worksite)  in to iTWO  using the SCS Railways Data Warehouse
  • Liaising closely with IT personnel to ensure that all required interfaces between SCS functional systems are delivered on time to enable the iTWO implementation
  • Coordinating the import of the project’s programme to ensure alignment between the cost estimate and the WBS structure to set the initial baseline environment in iTWO
  • Working closely with the reporting specialists to implement effective reporting tools: Power Bi, SQL, iTWO, etc.
  • Revising and improving reporting processes and procedures to achieve project’s goals within iTWO
  • Ensuring training of iTWO business users
  • Review and ensure ongoing compliance with HS2 and SCS IT policy

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of implementing project controls information systems for performance control and reporting within large constructions projects managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience of planning and cost controls systems
  • Good knowledge of Earn Value Management methodologies
  • Good knowledge of Project Controls/Cost Control methodologies
  • Good knowledge of Business Intelligence systems
  • Effective stakeholder’s management
  • Implementation and integration of IT systems
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Delivery expert ensuring deadlines are met to project requirements as set out within the reporting calendar
  • Be a problem solver

About the Company

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 Main Civils Contracts which include both Lots S1 (Euston Tunnels & Approaches) and S2 (Northolt Tunnels). The combined value of the contracts is around £1.8billion with the works due for completion in 2025.  Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
