Plant & Machinery Compliance Manager

Job Introduction

About the role:

The Area East Plant Compliance Manager will join the SCS Area East Construction Team. They will be responsible for managing the plant and machinery processes for all operations within the area. Managing the compliance of operated plant, Machinery receipt ensuring the competence of the individual and the correct selection of Plant and Machinery have been adhered to.

The role is aimed at experienced Supervisors or Plant Managers who can demonstrate a track-record of operating in a system-based goods receipt, and review of plant selection in all operations in a scaled operation across multiple assets.

Role Responsibility

  • Ensure the project functions in a legal and ethical manner while meeting the health and safety regulations when it comes to plant that are being delivered to site.
  • Ensure sub-contractors and supply chains` are managing the UK standards of H&S, rules and regulation set by the relevant regulatory UK bodies in relation all operated plant being small or big.
  • Support, advise and report to work superintendent, work managers, plant manager & the health and safety officer that the plant is compliance and meets the company requirements for it to be on site and has all relevant documentation to cover and protect the business at all aspect.
  • Engage with Suppliers & Manufacturers to ensure that the project is up to date with new technology/Types of Plant when they are brought to site.

The Ideal Candidate

  • SMSTS (Managing SHE in Costain).
  • NVQ level 6 or above
  • NVQ level 2 Plant operations.
  • Track History of Managing & supervising Plant operations and Engagement with Plant Ops.
  • Knowledge of Costain Plant Specification, Plant Reception, Plant operator assessment & CTRM protocols.

Desirable:

  • NRSWA Supervisor
  • MEWPs for Managers
  • A1 Assessors Qualification
  • TWS.

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services.

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
