Plant Administrator
Job Introduction
We are looking for a Plant Administrator to work on HS2 Main Works in Area Central. As a Plant Administrator you will be responsible for all administration within the Plant Department and fulfil all necessary tasks required to successfully manage all on-site plant (owned and hired) in this area.

Role Responsibility
Key Areas of Responsibility
Supporting the Plant Manager / Plant Buyer in the management of Plant Hire and Equipment to suit the needs and demand of the project, to ensure continuity of the works in accordance with the SCS procurement processes. Responsibilities will be as follows but not limited to:
- Keeping record of all plant hire using the SCS Plant Book and E1 procurement system.
- Work efficiently and professionally during periods of pressure
- Maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders involved
- Collating Live Hire reports from Supply Chain and carrying out reconciliations against the SCS Plant Book
- Supporting the Plant Buyer in issuing detailed enquiries to suppliers providing clarity of SCS requirements
- Supporting the Plant Buyer in completion of all on/off hires on the project’s E1 finance system including issuing of hire orders following the requisition process.
- Supporting the Plant Buyer in working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve order/invoice queries
The Ideal Candidate
Required qualifications, skills, behaviors and attributes
Essential:
- Effective communication skills and ability to work closely with internal and external customers
- Competent application of computer software such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ideal:
- Previous experience of Plant Administration on a major project
- Previous knowledge of ordering/booking systems or a similar system for and Plant hire procurement
- Experience of working on major civil engineering or rail projects
- Experience of working in joint venture organizations delivering infrastructure projects
- GCSE’s math’s and English (C) or equivalent
- Experience of Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Meeting Manager
- Previous experience of administrative / PA role in a similar environment/setting i.e construction
- Experience of Document Control in a construction environment as desirable.
- Ability to organize senior managers’ workloads

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 Main Civils Contracts which include both Lots S1 (Euston Tunnels & Approaches) and S2 (Northolt Tunnels). Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
