LIMS Reporting Manager

Job Introduction

We are seeking an individual to work at our UKAS accredited Materials testing Lab developing and maintaining our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) & other related quality systems. You will ensure the effective daily operation of the LIMS. You will co-ordinate with the materials team to solve LIMS issues and test/implement updates in an effective manner.

Role Responsibility

  • Create custom ad hoc reports and trend analysis using the LIMS
  • Communicate with the materials team and ensure that sites interests/requirements are taken into consideration in the design of new LIMS functionality and optimization
  • Manage and maintain LIMS data integrity
  • Work exclusively with the LabWare Consultant(s).
  • Provide a comprehensive list of requirements and assist with the configuration and implementation.
  • Provide example reports, spreadsheets, and any documentation that is expected to become part of the LIMS & ELN
  • Assist and assume responsibility for as much of the implementation as possible.
  • Assisting users with system usage
  • Coordination and implementation of change control policies
  • Map and implement business process changes in the LIMS & ELN
  • Connect new instruments to LIMS & ELN
  • Carry out development and continuous updates of LIMS and Quality Documents
  • Undertake end user training
  • Carry out data entry as needed

The Ideal Candidate

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject beneficial but not essential
  • Strong background in IT. Ideally, a sound knowledge of databases and the operating systems and the ability to program in a procedural (non-object-oriented) programming language
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a laboratory environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A full knowledge of ISO 17025
  • Good understanding of the processes within the laboratory and the QA processes including reports of the Lab

About the Company

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high-speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high-speed services

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 Main Civils Contracts which include both Lots S1 (Euston Tunnels & Approaches) and S2 (Northolt Tunnels). The combined value of the contracts is around £1.8billion with the works due for completion in 2025.  Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
