Interface Package Manager - Lifts
Job Introduction
Reporting to the MEP Design Manager , the Lift Package / Interface Manager will be responsible for the Lift works across HS2 S1 and S2 lots and also cover the Design Interface role for areas West and East, working closely with the Area Central Interface manager.
Role Responsibility
· Finalise the procurement of the Lift package for S1 and S2
· Review Lift ITT scope ahead of contract award to ensure all Lift requirements have been captured and costed.
· Liaise with HS2 Lift lead on framework discussions, ensure best value for money is achieved through SCS procurement.
· Ensure that the Lift proposals for Stage 2 are developed and aligned with other project functions and disciplines. Ensure that the proposals are cascaded and understood by the delivery team.
· Prepare and implement the Lift delivery strategy for Stage 2 (including Testing and Commissioning) including gaining of all governance approvals
· Manage the Lifts ECI subcontract through the design phase and lead contract negotiations with the subcontractor (s) for the delivery of the construction phase
· Identify Lift delivery team resource requirements to suit the needs of the contract and work with the Project People team to recruit necessary resources
· Input into Lifts related procurement including identifying long lead time and high risk packages and products to secure the delivery in line with requirements
· Ensure the interfaces with relevant stakeholders or identified and managed
· Development and implementation of Stage Two mobilisation activities for Lifts
· Development and submission of construction phase plans for Lifts Works
· Support the MEP PD with the MEP proposals for Stage 2 are developed and aligned with other project functions and disciplines. Ensure that the proposals are cascaded and understood by the delivery team.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential:
- Experience in a similar level role, responsible for the delivery of Lifts including management, procurement, design, construction, testing, commissioning and handover.
- A professional qualification or degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or related subject
- Strong leadership, communication and conflict management skills
Desirable:
- Experience of delivering Lift works on a major rail project
- Experience of Early Contractor Involvement models and NEC forms of contract
- Knowledge of industry regulations for design, construction and testing and commissioning of Lifts.
- Expert knowledge of products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
- Experience of a self-assurance contract environment

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 Main Civils Contracts which include both Lots S1 (Euston Tunnels & Approaches) and S2 (Northolt Tunnels). The combined value of the contracts is around £1.8billion with the works due for completion in 2025. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
