Induction Administrator

Job Introduction

SCS Railways are creating an exemplar site to showcase construction methods, training, technology and equipment, demonstrating best practice and innovation across our strategic priorities. The gateway to our industry leading facility will be the ‘Welcome Centre’, an inviting and modern space to host new staff, visitors and training candidates for their onward journey to the Induction and Visitor Centre, Training Academy and ‘Breathe’ our dedicated tunnel safety training suite.  Fundamental to the success of these combined operations, the successful candidate will be approachable, a team player and must have excellent communication skills to assist in liaising with our staff, sub-contractors and visitors.

The Induction Administrator is a part of the wider security team, is responsible for the smooth operation of the Health and Safety Passport kiosks, and other administration tasks associated with the induction process. Reporting to the Induction and Access Assistant Manager, the successful candidate will act as administrator for all HSPS Kiosk machines, managing all aspects to ensure they are all working and maintained at all times. The candidate will also ensure housekeeping of the Welcome center is always maintained. They will be approachable, a team player and must have excellent communication skills to assist in liaising with our staff, sub-contractors and visitors.

Role Responsibility

  • Managing the continuous use of the kiosks
  • Troubleshooting all technical issues
  • Maintaining the enquiries email box and resolving queries
  • Providing assistance at all times to anyone registering onto the kiosks
  • Create instruction sheet how to use the kiosks
  • Ensure consumables, card and ink in kiosks are full maintained at all times
  • Order stationary, cleaning products, induction suppliers for the team
  • Briefing and guidance to the project team, subcontractors on any developments to the system
  • Reporting any breaches or abuse of the system to the Security Systems Manager
  • Managing any other aspect that comes up relating to the kiosks
  • To cover and maintain the Welcome Center housekeeping when required

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • Attention to detail with the ability to undertake a variety of tasks with a high level of accuracy
  • Identifying and escalating potential risks, issues and sensitive situations
  • Experience in working within a fast paced environment
  • Good computer skills i.e. Microsoft forms, excel
  • People/systems related skills

Desirable Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience on a similar size construction project
  • Experience of competency management systems

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
