Job Introduction
The Handover and Assurance Manager is responsible to the Senior Quality Manager for ensuring that hand-over of project deliverables are defined, agreed and progressively delivered to the client and other stakeholders in line with programme and contract requirements
Key Competencies
- Experience of handover management including practical experience of handover of a large rail or highways sector project (£50m or more)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in management of a team
- Experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365
Responsibilities
- Liaison with the client and other stakeholders to define and agree documentation and other deliverables requirements for handover
- Assist with the Development of an Asset Breakdown Structure (WBS) to define how deliverables will be packaged up for handover of each parcel to relevant stakeholders. Agree WBS with the client
- Establish a Defects and Outstanding Works List (DOWL) process and assist / advise the delivery team in its management throughout the construction phase.
- Assist with the requirements and contents of Operation and Maintenance Manuals (O&Ms) and agree with the client. Management of the delivery of O&Ms
- Define requirements of Health and Safety Files and agree with the client
- Manage a team of engineers and assistants in compiling handover documentation and verifying information submitted by third parties and the delivery team
- Liaise with Quality Team to manage progressive production of Assurance for on and off-site activities
- Liaison with Technical Assurance (TA) team to ensure that all requirements for TA in handover documentation are met
- Manage and report on the production of As-built drawings for constructed works
- Establish an Inspection Regime for works ready to handover as required to give assurance to stakeholders that product quality meets requirements
- Liaise with the client to understand the requirements for recording of asset data and facilitate upload onto the HS2 Asset Information Management System (AIMs) database. Communicate responsibilities to the project team
- Interface with the Building Information Model (BIM) team to link handover deliverables into BIM. Establish BIM as a tool for handover
- Raise awareness – raise the profile of handover as a real project goal through presentations to the project team and other communication. Update the team on progress from development of a handover system through progressive assurance to final project handover
- Attend meetings as required
