Duty Access Manager (day shift)

Job Introduction

About the role:

The Duty Access Manager will join the SCS Logistics team that manages construction logistics across the HS2 main works. The primary purpose is to ensure an efficient logistics operation to construction sites across the SCS geographic area, in line with policies and procedures.

Role Responsibility

Role Success Criteria

  • Managing the companies gate process and teams’ requirements for the site access in-line with SCS and HS2 agreed standards.
  • Accurate recording of vehicle movements to and from site.
  • Ensuring all vehicle and plant movements are safe and free of pedestrian interference.
  • Collaboration with all stakeholders (internal & external) to ensure company, vehicle, driver compliance.
  • Actively assist in the promotion of Community Safety.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace, lead by example.
  • Adherence and promotion of logistics processes with particular emphasis on compliance.
  • Control access to and from site is carried out in a safe manner.
  • Manage site and gate operations based on planned forecasts from the logistics team.
  • Produce KPI reports in line with SCS and HS2 requirements.
  • Non-conformance management, supporting solution implementation to avoid repeat occurrences.
  • Any other business relating to organization the Duty Access Managers role.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Common sense approach to working situations
  • Current qualification in either Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS).
  • Community Safety Accreditation Scheme for Traffic Management CSAS is preferable.
  • Current Construction Skills Certification Scheme card (CSCS).
  • Able to work in a high-pressured environment.
  • Working knowledge of FORS/CLOCS.
  • Experience in construction site logistics is preferable.
  • Experience in delivering excellent customer service is preferable.
  • Knowledge and practical use of Excel and PowerPoint packages is preferable.
  • Experience of managing a team is preferable.
  • Experience in Conflict Management is preferable.

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
