Assistant Project Manager

Job Introduction

About the role:

We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join the Noise Insulation team.  The Assistant Project Manager will work within the Noise Insulation Team to ensure that we deliver a high-quality service to our residents who require noise insulation.  Ensuring that the supply chain delivers on our requirements and providing a high level of support and consistency and helping to ensure that the project overall also delivers its contractual obligations in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Role Responsibility

  • Assist the Package Manager in delivering a portfolio of projects to strict deadlines
  • Comply with the CSJV and client’s governance processes
  • Develop and manage design and construction work packages to programme and cost
  • Maintain strict quality control procedures and ensuring compliance with all environmental and health & safety legislation and policies
  • Communicate with and gather information from  a wide variety of stakeholders both internal and external
  • Work collaboratively and implement the best solutions to meet the client’s corporate responsibility and sustainability targets (including sustainability in design, construction, minimisation of the energy use, carbon emissions, waste materials reduction and the supply chain)
  • Communicating between residents and the supply chain
  • Providing customer service to residents.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in project management (essential)
  • A team player, who has the ability to self-start and work independently (essential)
  • Willingness to communicate with a range of stakeholders (essential)
  • Ability to organise, manage and forward plan their own workload (essential)
  • Experience of new connections and / or diversions of multi-utilities (desirable)

About the Company

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high-speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high-speed services.

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
