Asset Information Systems Manager

Job Introduction

This role is responsible for developing and delivering complete and comprehensive processes and platforms/tools for the project Asset Data Information Model (AIM). This is used for all SCS JV Work Packages where appropriate, in line with the Works Information.

Role Responsibility

  • Developing and managing the Asset Information Model, assuring and reporting the AIM quality, integrity and compliance against the Employer Information Requirements, the HS2 Asset Information Management System (AIMS), the SCS JV BIM Execution Plan, the SCS JV Content Plan, the SCS JV HS2 Asset Classes Matrix, the SCS JV Asset List and PAS1192.
  • Managing the SCS JV Asset Information Model Database, including control of access, creation of new tables, views and SQL procedures to support the evolving needs of the project.
  • Management and creation of FME workbenches and other ancillary software to support the transfer of data between systems where appropriate, and to automate where possible.
  • Management of API’s between the database, SCS JV systems and other third party software such as EMT, Assetwise and models.
  • Providing technical support for integrating Asset information with our mobile platform Zutec.
  • Analyse HS2 and SCS JV requirements for inclusion of data from Design House and other sources, including Supply Chain partners, and develop systems and procedures to achieve this.
  • Liaison with HS2 Asset Information team and SCS JV Subject Matter Experts to provide clarity on Asset Information requirements, in order to maximise the re-use of information and reduce duplicate holdings of information.
  • Develop suitable reports and dashboards to support the Asset Information team and others to understand the status of team and project deliverables in terms of completeness and quality using Power BI, in relation to Asset Information Management.
  • Is responsible for identifying and implementing new initiatives and processes to improve efficiency and certainty across multiple parts of SCS JV as required by its Works Information (WI350), in relation to Asset Information Management.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders of Asset information within the SCS JV BIM team and its supply chain to collaboratively ensure continuity and integrity of data.
  • Responsible for feeding back to the Head of BIM any potential technical risks, challenges and opportunities related to Asset Information Management.

The Ideal Candidate

Required Experience, Skills, Qualifications, and Behaviours

  • Previous experience as an Asset Information Lead or Coordinator, working across all stages of a Civil Engineering project lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of SQL Language coding and SQL Database management.
  • Solid understanding of the BIM Development and Implementation in conjunction to the Engineering Design, Construction, Operation and Maintenance phases.
  • Experience of working within and managing Asset Data Management Environments and Systems from a Data Management role.
  • Experience of working within very large project environments.

  • Solid understanding of PAS 1192 suite of documents.
  • Knowledge and experience of using Extract-Transform-Load Process and particularly FME.
  • Knowledge and experience of using of APIs and Systems integration.
  • Sustained Continuing Professional Development.

  • Degree or equivalent in civil engineering or an appropriate professional qualification.

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
